The Story
With a very happy-go-lucky attitude, Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) lives life to fullest and his happy attitude exudes onto others. Unfortunately, not all things go as planned as Prem finds himself in all sorts of disastrous situations. Fitting to the name, Prem falls in love with the gorgeous Jennifer (Katrina Kaif).
In what seems to be an accidental abduction, Prem does indeed kidnap Jennifer. He is hoping to win her over as he is head over for heels for her, and Jennifer herself is looking for someone she can love and someone who will love her back.
The story takes a turn as Prem helps Jennifer escape her wedding. As the story unfolds this unlucky couple run from a furious father, frustrated groom, and a politician. The film is set in a comic book setting so the reality is bound to be a tad crazy.
The film then depicts each prisoner’s story vividly and realistically. As we learn each character’s story, they form relationships. The film also shows failed attempts to escape and the tedious legal process that takes place and that many are unaware of.

What Worked:
Ranbir and Katrina truly impress, not only with their individual roles, but also with their on-screen chemistry. The two worked together quite well! With such great on-screen emotion the pivotal scenes were taken seriously throughout the comedy.
What Didn’t Work:
With a comedy like this, it is expected to hear a few punch lines, but certain scenes were just so over the top that it became overkill. The beginning of the film has us captivated but the end got crazy and killed the excitement.
The Soundtrack:
The movie has a hit soundtrack! From the amazing vocalists to the fun lyrics, there is no doubt that the music completes the movie. Also Pritam gives us great love ballads and hip-hop club tunes that truly add dynamic to the film as well.
Slated or Rated:
If you are looking for a fun loving and silly movie we recommend this one. However, if there is only so much crazy comedy you can take, “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” may just frustrate you.
