Whenever I see female conductors in the public transport, I think that what forced them to be in this profession. The answer is abject poverty and haplessness.
Daewoo Bus Hostess abuse on Road
I have travelled from Islamabad to Lahore through motorway on Daewoo bus service couple of times and it was a fine ride. Among other things, the congenial and sociable tending of the female bus hostesses is also something Daewoo introduced. Then some other bus services also started the same trend.
Some people consider these poor and needs hostesses as some object of entertainment. Many eye them as bad girls and treat them likewise. These girls often remain silent just to save their dignity, modesty and job.
Then the incident happened in which couple of guys struck a bet to abuse the bus hostess and they did it. Luckily this time, police has arrested the culprits and the silver lining is that the CEO of Daewoo and chief minister Punjab has visited the unfortunate girl and has offered her compensation.
A major overhaul is needed in our ailing society.
